The Team
Meet Rachel Mark
Rachel started OTM because of a pattern she kept noticing. Every dog and every owner was different, but the story often sounded the same: owners who had tried everything, and dogs who didn't understand what was being asked of them. A few had real behavior problems. Most just needed someone to give them a clear answer.
She went full-time in 2020 and has trained dogs from every kind of background since. For most of them, the e-collar is what made things click. It lets her communicate with a dog at a distance, and reliably through life's distractions.
Rachel reads every application herself and tells you honestly whether board and train is right for your dog. If someone else is a better fit, she'll say so and send you their way.

Rooney was Rachel's first dog. Before OTM had a name, he was already doing the work, helping other people's dogs learn just by being around him. He sat in on the early sessions, the hard lessons, and every dog that came after. Rooney passed in 2024. He's still part of this business in a real way: the dog on the OTM logo is him.

Balanced training teaches your dog both "yes" and "no." Most owners already have the yes part down, since treats and praise make good behavior easy to reward. "No" is harder. It only means something to a dog once it's been paired with a real consequence, and most dogs have never been taught that.
That's where the e-collar comes in. Once your dog has learned a command, the e-collar gives us a way to follow through at a distance when they choose not to comply. It's not a correction for trying and failing. It's accountability for a dog who knows what's being asked and ignores it anyway.

Your dog lives with Rachel in her home for the length of the program. No facility, no rotating staff. Training happens every day in real-world settings, and there's no going home at night to the old routine. That consistency is why the results hold once your dog is back with you.
Dogs need to be at least 6 months old to start.

Plenty of boarding facilities turn dogs loose in big groups with nobody really watching. Some dogs handle that fine. A lot come home stressed, with new bad habits or worse reactivity.
Dogs boarding with Rachel have a set routine built around pack walks and outdoor time, with place work mixed in so training doesn't stall. Whether your dog plays with others depends on their temperament. Nobody gets tossed into a group to fill the day.
Boarding is open to OTM graduates and Puppy Jumpstart dogs waiting to start training. Dogs who've been e-collar trained elsewhere can board too, after an evaluation. Additional training may be required before boarding.

You don't need to know that before you apply. Rachel reads every application herself and recommends a program based on your dog's history and what you want life with them to look like.

Fill out the application and tell Rachel about your dog. She'll review it and follow up with next steps.
Spots are booking about 4 months out, so your dog will go on the waitlist. Openings are offered in the order applications come in. When your spot comes up, a $1,000 non-refundable deposit holds your dates and goes toward the program total. Puppy Jumpstart dogs pay a $500 deposit instead, due at enrollment.
Applying early is the only way to get in sooner.
